Nobel Prize in Literature for  Annie Ernaux

The Swedish Academy has announced the winner of the 2022 Nobel Prize in Literature. It is the French Annie Ernaux.

“ for the courage and clinical perceptivity with which she uncovers the roots, disaffections and collaborative conditions of particular memory." 

Ernaux believes in the liberating force of jotting. Her work is exacting and written in plain language, scraped clean.

The prizes carry a cash award of 10 million Swedish kronor( nearly$,000) and will be handed out onDec. 10.
